My Experience:

When my grandmother passed away, my mom asked me to give the service. I felt honored and gladly accepted the opportunity as I am an ordained minister. Although I haven’t seen the family in years and felt nervous, I was also excited and grateful for such an amazing experience to honor my grandmother.

The morning after she passed, I was blow drying my hair in pure thought about the funeral service. I felt someone creep up in my bedroom yet I knew that physically nobody walked in. I turned off my hair dryer and said, “Who’s here?”

Shirley” I heard through my inner knowing. Since I don’t always see with my physical eyes, I squinted into the room trying to find someone.

Shirley who?” I asked.

I helped your grandmom cross over,” I heard.

I was shocked! I really wanted to know more and talk to Shirley but sometimes my logical brain kicks in and I want verification! I laugh at myself on this part as I know by now that I ought to trust. I have witnessed so many amazing experiences with the other side, that looking back I probably should have kept talking to Shirley. But I couldn’t and didn’t.

Instead I put my finger up in the air and said, “Okay Shirley, hold on to that thought for one moment.” I picked up my phone and text my mother. 🙂

Text: Does Grandmom know a Shirley?

Mom: Her sister is Shirley and so is my fathers sister. Why? They have both crossed over.

I told her what I heard and experienced and she said, “I would really like to know which Shirley it was.” After our texting back and forth, I was going to ask and call Shirley in again however I didn’t get the chance because I had to get ready for the day to begin.

A few days later we went out to lunch and mom said again, “Amber, I would really like to know which Shirley it was. Did you get any information?” I confessed that I didn’t ask and when I felt Shirley again, I definitely would. Days went by and I didn’t feel, hear or see anything from Shirley.

The day of the viewing I walked into a room with people I haven’t seen in years. It felt so wonderful to reunite and have conversations with my large family. I ran into my Aunt Sally and she gave me a big hug and squeezed me so tight I thought I would nearly stop breathing. Then her eyes got real big and with a huge smile she said, “I was looking through thousands of photos for great ones with your grandmother but something got my attention. There’s a photo that I want to show you. A picture of someone you resemble. I gave it to your mom, make sure to look at it. Its weird how close you resemble.”

A few minutes later mom grabbed my arm and pulled me aside. “Amber, look at this photo. Then look at your high school photo.…:

I agreed we definitely looked similar!  “Mom, who is she?” I asked.

She said, “This is your Aunt Shirley.”

Lesson:

I am so grateful and humbled every time Spirit comes through like that. Mom needed to know which Shirley to give her peace for her own healing process, and so when she asked and she received!

Sometimes we don’t know how or when the answer will come about. It comes when its ready to come and sometimes its even better than we can imagine. Out of the thousands of photos Aunt Sally went through, she had a distinct feeling that she should show me this photo. Coincidence? Never. That’s the work of Spirit.

Trust the process. It won’t always go as we think it should or wish it would, but when we ask, the Universe hears our request.  As soon as the words come out of your mouth, the Universe is working on it. Be open to opportunities because you will never know how they will come through.

Thank you, Aunt Shirley, for allowing me to deliver a message for mom. With much gratitude always – Amber.
