The solar plexus chakra easily becomes imbalanced with an overindulgence of processed grains such as cereal, bagels, white bread etc. Most people are unfamiliar with what a WHOLE GRAIN is as boxes of Lucky Charms advertises whole grain cereal with 11 grams.

Whole grains can be quite confusing! So let’s clear it up.

Refined grains, items like pasta, bagels and white breads, have lower nutritional values and can cause a spike in blood sugar.

Where as whole grains contain iron, dietary fiber and B vitamins. They also keep your blood sugar stable so your body doesn’t experience the “crash.”

Whole grains are items such as:

  • Amaranth
  • Kamut
  • Couscous
  • Millet
  • Oats
  • Brown Rice
  • Quinoa

So what does this have to do with your solar plexus chakra?

Our solar plexus houses our power house. If we are crashing on refined grains throughout the day we are also draining our solar plexus. Good quality whole grains = sustainable energy. Learning how to find balance throughout our day is important as well as releasing stress which also affects the solar plexus chakra.

This recipe is delicious and creamy. I love creamy oatmeal in the morning to keep me full longer than a quick bagel! There’s a trick to cook oatmeal and the secret is in the yellow banana.

By the way, yellow bananas also support the solar plexus chakra on a color therapy vibration. As we switch seasons into fall and winter, this is a must have recipe on your breakfast plate.

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup almond milk (or milk of choice)
  • 1 banana, cut in half
  • 1 heaping tablespoon of almond butter
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • Sprinkle of walnuts

Directions:

  1. Place oats in saucepan and pour 1/2 cup boiling water on top. Let sit for ten minutes.
  2. Stir in almond milk, half banana, almond butter and cinnamon.
  3. Cook for 5 minutes and stir until creamy and I’m drooling just writing this.
  4. Serve with the remainder banana and walnuts. Enjoy!

Best. Ever. For. Real.

The points I want you to leave with regarding your solar plexus is to add in whole grains into your diet verses refined grains. If you have a gluten allergy, substitute for gluten free oats. You may want to use a brand that also provides a gluten free facility like Bob Red Mills.

Life should be good, healthy and equally delicious!
