Cherries contain strong and powerful antioxidants such as anthocyanins and cyanidin. Sweet cherries contain fiber, vitamin C, carotenoids, and anthocyanins, each of which may help play a role in cancer prevention.

They can even assist with sleep! By consuming just one cup of cherries you’re experiencing the benefits of melatonin, Vitamin C and antioxidants!

 

So let’s process this!

The food choices you make either fuels or depletes the body of nutrients. When we choose to make healthy choices, the body becomes nourished. Knowing that our food has the best medicine for prevention and maintaining good health, why not make better selections?

 

We can make bad, good or best choice:

Bad Choice: Eating preservative out of the can chemical filled cherries.

Good Choice: Consuming cherries, either frozen or fresh.

Best Choice: Go organic!

Cherries have a short season so if you are purchasing in the off season, be sure to check your frozen section. They are a variety of cherry distributors, so support organic companies when you can. Ingredients:

  • 2 cups green (rotate them weekly)
  • 1 banana
  • 1/4 cup organic pumpkin seeds
  • 1 cup frozen organic cherries
  • 1 cup almond milk, more if needed

Place in a blender and enjoy!
